A Friend in Me

  • Memphis Center for Mindful Living 4646 Poplar Memphis United States (map)

This 8 week formal mindfulness program is designed to develop self-compassion, empathy, and resilience in children ages 7-11. The program is a fun and engaging way for children to develop important social-emotional skills to better handle the daily challenges and stress that come with being a kid. Brief videos, games, art, mindful movement, and mindfulness meditation practices are all built into the weekly classes. This program can benefit any child, but especially those who struggle with self-acceptance, connection with others, feelings of overwhelm, and low frustration tolerance.

There is a free parent and child orientation on Tuesday, Sept 10 at 6:30 pm. This orientation time is a change in the schedule.

The class will be led by Amy Balentine, psychologist and mindfulness meditation teacher.

The cost is $295, with $95 due by the first day of class. Some Health Savings Accounts may be used to cover the cost.  Insurance may be used if there is a mental health diagnosis. Some plans accepted.

To begin registration, click on the button below and sign up. Registration is not complete until intake forms and a phone interview with Amy Balentine has been completed. You will be contacted via email once you sign up.
